Glory to Jesus Christ!

On October 29, the Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Anastasia of Rome, a courageous virgin and martyr who gave her life in unwavering devotion to Christ. Her example of faith and purity continues to inspire Orthodox Christians around the world to remain steadfast in truth, even amidst suffering and trial.

The readings appointed for this day—Colossians 1:18–23 and Luke 11:9–13—speak powerfully to the hope and assurance we have in Christ. In the Epistle, St. Paul reminds us that Christ is the head of the Church and the reconciler of all creation through His blood. In the Gospel, our Lord calls us to persistence in prayer: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Together, these readings echo Saint Anastasia’s own life of faith and her willingness to seek and follow God’s will even unto martyrdom.

We warmly invite you to join us again for our next livestream on Thursday, October 30, at 8:00 AM Eastern, and to learn more about the life of the Church through our outreach at stpanteleimon.com.

May the prayers of Saint Anastasia of Rome strengthen us all in faith and perseverance.
