Glory to Jesus Christ!
On August 28, the Orthodox Church commemorates Our Venerable Father Moses the Ethiopian. Known for his humility, steadfast prayer, and ascetic life, Saint Moses serves as an enduring example of devotion and spiritual discipline.
Who Was Our Venerable Father Moses the Ethiopian?
Saint Moses the Ethiopian was a 4th-century ascetic renowned for his life of repentance, prayer, and humility. Born in Ethiopia, he fled a life of slavery and violence to embrace the monastic life in the deserts of Egypt. Through years of rigorous asceticism and steadfast devotion, he became a spiritual guide to many and a living testimony to the transformative power of God’s grace.
His life encourages us to cultivate inner peace, pursue holiness, and place our trust fully in God. Moses reminds us that spiritual strength and wisdom are born of prayer, humility, and unwavering faith, even amid challenges.
