Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
On July 21, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Prophet Ezekiel. Ezekiel was a major Old Testament prophet, known for his powerful visions and prophecies regarding the restoration of Israel and the coming glory of God. His life and message continue to inspire and challenge us to live faithfully according to God's will.
Who Was the Prophet Ezekiel?
Ezekiel was one of the great prophets of the Old Testament, called by God to deliver His message during a time of exile for the Israelites. Known for his dramatic visions, Ezekiel prophesied about the restoration of Israel and the coming of the Lord's Kingdom. He is remembered for his obedience to God and his unwavering dedication to delivering God's message, even when it was met with resistance.
Readings for July 21
As we reflect on the life and prophecies of Ezekiel, the readings for today remind us of the importance of purity, reconciliation, and humility in our walk with God:
📖 1 Corinthians 5:9-6:11: In this passage, St. Paul addresses issues of morality within the Christian community, emphasizing the need for purity and repentance. He encourages the Corinthians to seek reconciliation and live in a way that reflects the holiness of God.
📖 Matthew 13:54-58: In this Gospel reading, Jesus returns to His hometown, only to be met with disbelief and rejection. This passage serves as a reminder of the challenges we often face when sharing the Gospel with others, and the importance of remaining faithful to God’s calling, even when it is not well received.
