Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
Today is the First Monday of Great Lent.

On February 23, we commemorate the Holy Hieromartyr Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna, a faithful disciple of the Apostles and steadfast witness to Christ. His martyrdom embodies the courage and fidelity that the Lenten season seeks to cultivate within every believer.

The appointed reading from Isaiah 1:1–20 establishes the spiritual foundation of Great Lent. The prophet calls the faithful to sincere repentance, justice, and purification of heart. In these solemn words, the Church invites us to examine ourselves, to turn away from sin, and to embrace the mercy of God.

Our next livestream will take place on February 24, 2026, at 8:00am.

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
Tonight, we are chanting Vespers for Cheesefare Saturday, commemorating all our God-bearing Fathers and Mothers who shone forth in asceticism.

As we stand at the threshold of Great Lent, the Church places before us the luminous example of the ascetic saints. Through fasting, vigilance, humility, and unceasing prayer, they purified their hearts and became living temples of the Holy Spirit. Their lives testify that repentance is the gateway to joy and communion with God.

The readings from Zechariah 8:7–17 and 8:19–23 proclaim the Lord’s promise of restoration, peace, and truth. Even seasons of fasting are transformed into gladness when embraced with sincerity and hope. In these prophetic words, the faithful are encouraged to undertake the Lenten journey with trust in God’s mercy.

Our next livestream will take place on February 23, 2026, at 8:00am.

The feast departs from the calendar, yet its light continues to guide our spiritual life.
