Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
On May 1, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Prophet Jeremiah, whose life of obedience and proclamation continues to inspire repentance and trust in God’s providence. His witness calls us to remain faithful, even in times of difficulty.
The Scripture readings appointed for this day (Acts 8:40–9:19 and John 6:48–54) present the dramatic conversion of Saul and Christ’s profound teaching as the Bread of Life. Together, these passages illuminate the path of transformation and the necessity of abiding in Christ for eternal life.
We are reminded that the Orthodox life is one of continual renewal, nourished by prayer, Scripture, and participation in the sacramental life of the Church.
