Glory to Jesus Christ!
On October 10, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Eulampius and Eulampia, a brother and sister united not only by blood but also by faith and martyrdom. Their courage and devotion to Christ in the face of persecution remind us that true faith is unbreakable and eternal.
According to tradition, St. Eulampius was among the first to confess Christ during a time of persecution. His sister, St. Eulampia, seeing his steadfastness, also declared her faith and joined him in martyrdom. Together, they received the crown of eternal life, showing that love for God transcends fear and death.
Today’s Scripture Readings
The readings appointed for today call us to perseverance and spiritual vigilance:
Ephesians 6:18–24 – St. Paul urges the faithful to pray continually and to stand firm in the armor of God.
Luke 7:31–35 – Christ speaks of those who refuse wisdom, reminding us that the way of righteousness is found in listening to and living the truth.
