Glory to Jesus Christ!
On November 20, the Orthodox Church celebrates Forefeast of the Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple.
The appointed readings—1 Thessalonians 5:1–8 and Luke 16:1–9—invite us to reflect on spiritual vigilance and faithful stewardship. St. Paul urges believers to remain “children of the light,” steadfast and sober-minded as we await the Lord’s coming. The Gospel reading offers the challenging parable of the unjust steward, reminding us that wisdom, accountability, and discernment are essential qualities in the Christian life. Together, these passages encourage us to be attentive to God’s gifts and purposeful in our spiritual journey.
As we preparation for the feast of the Mother of God, the Church also commemorates Our Holy Father Gregory of Decapolis, a defender of the Orthodox faith during the iconoclastic struggles, and St. Proclus, Archbishop of Constantinople, the devoted disciple and successor of St. John Chrysostom. Their courage, fidelity, and theological clarity continue to inspire believers today. Their lives serve as timely reminders that authenticity in faith requires courage, humility, and perseverance.
We warmly invite you to join us for our Vespers live-stream tomorrow, November 21, at 6:30 PM Eastern. For more resources and upcoming services, please visit stpanteleimon.com.
