Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
January 2 is the first day of the Forefeast of Theophany. On this day, the Orthodox Church commemorates St. Seraphim of Sarov and St. Sylvester, Pope of Rome.
The Scripture readings, Hebrews 11:8, 11–16 and Mark 12:1–12, call us to live by faith and to remain attentive to God’s saving work. United with the witness of the saints remembered today, these readings encourage humility, perseverance, and a trusting response to God’s call.
