Glory to Jesus Christ!
On October 24, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyr Arethas and his 4,299 fellow martyrs. These courageous Christians, martyred in Najran (modern-day Yemen) in the 6th century, stood firm in their confession of Christ despite the threat of death. Their faith and endurance continue to inspire Orthodox Christians across the world.
The Epistle reading from Philippians 3:8–19 reminds us of the Apostle Paul’s words about counting all things as loss for the sake of Christ. The Gospel from Luke 10:1–15 recounts Christ’s sending of the seventy apostles, calling us to share the good news of salvation in every place.
We invite you to join our next livestream service on Tuesday, October 28 at 8:00 AM (Eastern). To learn more about the ministry and our upcoming broadcasts, please visit stpanteleimon.com.
May the prayers of the Holy Martyr Arethas and his companions strengthen us in steadfast love for Christ.
