Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

On August 14, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Forefeast of the Dormition and the Holy Prophet Micah.

Today’s Scripture readings are 2 Corinthians 4:13–18 and Matthew 24:27–33, 42–51. The readings direct us beyond temporary affliction toward eternal glory and call us to watchfulness for the coming of Christ. The forefeast of the Dormition places that hope within the Church’s confidence in resurrection.
