Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

On August 17, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyr Myron the Presbyter. Saint Myron served Christ as a priest and remained steadfast under persecution, receiving the crown of martyrdom.

Today’s Scripture readings are 2 Corinthians 5:10–15 and Mark 1:9–15. Saint Paul reminds us that all will appear before Christ and that His love reshapes the way we live. The Gospel begins with repentance and the proclamation of God’s Kingdom, the path sealed by Saint Myron’s martyrdom.
