Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

On July 27, the Orthodox Church commemorates Holy Greatmartyr and Healer Panteleimon. Saint Panteleimon united medical skill with compassion and confessed Christ even unto martyrdom.

Today’s Scripture readings are 2 Timothy 2:1–10 and John 15:17–16:2 (St. Panteleimon); 1 Corinthians 11:31–12:6 and Matthew 18:1–11. The readings join steadfast endurance, the diversity of spiritual gifts, and the humility of a childlike heart. Saint Panteleimon embodied these gifts by serving the suffering and confessing Christ without fear.
