Glory to Jesus Christ!
On October 3, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Hieromartyr Dionysius the Areopagite. Once a respected judge of Athens, Dionysius encountered the Apostle Paul preaching at the Areopagus and became one of his devoted disciples. His conversion and later service as bishop testify to the life-changing power of the Gospel.
As a bishop, Dionysius guided the faithful with wisdom and courage, eventually giving his life as a martyr for Christ. His witness remains a beacon of faith and steadfast devotion to the truth of the Gospel.
Today’s Scripture Readings
Ephesians 4:17–25 – St. Paul urges us to put off the old self and to live in righteousness and holiness.
Luke 6:17–23 – Christ proclaims blessings upon the poor, the hungry, and the persecuted, encouraging us to trust in God’s eternal kingdom.
