Typica Livestream – Monday, September 1, 2025

Glory to Jesus Christ!
On September 1, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Beginning of the Ecclesiastical Year. This day is a reminder that time itself is a gift from God, offered to us for our salvation and spiritual growth.
The Church also remembers Our Venerable Father Simeon the Stylite and his mother, Martha, who both demonstrated profound faith and dedication to God. St. Simeon, known for his extraordinary asceticism, spent decades atop a pillar in prayer and intercession for the world, teaching us the power of persistence and humility.
Today’s Readings
1 Timothy 2:1–7 – A call to intercessory prayer for all people, that we may live peaceful and godly lives.
Luke 4:16–22 – Christ proclaims His mission in the synagogue, revealing that the Spirit of the Lord is upon Him to bring good news to the poor and healing to the brokenhearted.
