Who Was the Holy Apostle Aquila?
Aquila was one of the Seventy Apostles chosen by Christ to spread His teachings. Along with his wife, Priscilla, Aquila worked closely with St. Paul, helping to establish Christian communities and spreading the message of Christ. He is remembered for his faithful service, courage, and commitment to the Gospel. His partnership with St. Paul and Priscilla was instrumental in the growth of the early Church, and their work continues to inspire Christians today.
Readings for July 14
📖 Romans 16:17-24: St. Paul urges the Roman Christians to remain faithful to the teachings they received and to avoid those who cause division. This passage reminds us of the importance of unity in the faith and the need to be vigilant against false teachings.
📖 Matthew 13:10-23: In this Gospel reading, Jesus explains the Parable of the Sower. The seeds represent the Word of God, and the different types of soil symbolize the various responses to the Gospel. This passage challenges us to reflect on how we receive God’s Word and whether we nurture it in our hearts.
